Yorkshire Terriers

The Yorkshire Terrier, or lovingly referred to by most of us as the Yorkie, is a little dog developed in England in the mid 1800's. The Yorkie was not an accident, but comes from an intentional cross breeding of several Terriers, including the Waterside Terrier (which is a small blue-grey dog with long hair, weighing between 6 and 20 lbs brought to Yorkshire by Scottish weavers). It wasn’t long before the bold, curious, and adventure-loving Yorkie became a favorite of the British, elite due to their beauty, elegance, and of course, their small stature.
